In commemoration of International Women’s Day 2026, Second Chance Foundation organized a women empowerment program for female inmates at Bogor Class IIA Correctional Facility as part of its commitment to creating safe, inclusive, and transformative spaces for women in vulnerable situations. Held on 10 March 2026, the event served as a meaningful momentum to translate the spirit of International Women’s Day into concrete action with direct impact.

Carrying the theme Give to Gain alongside the spirit of Rights. Justice. Action. #ForAllWomenAndGirls, the program was designed to encourage all stakeholders to take real action through collaboration. Giving time, support, and opportunities to women should not be seen as a loss, but as a strategic investment in building a more inclusive and valuable future. When women thrive, especially women undergoing rehabilitation, society as a whole benefits from greater progress in the long term.

As part of the program, Second Chance Foundation facilitated a Mental Health for Women Talkshow and Semi Support Group in collaboration with Ibunda Indonesia (PT Ibunda Sehat Mental). During this session, Associate Psychologist from Ibunda.id, Husna Faizah, M.Psi., Psychologist, guided female inmates in understanding the importance of mental health, strengthening psychological resilience, and expressing personal experiences in a supportive and reflective environment. This approach plays an important role in supporting emotional recovery and preparing participants mentally for reintegration into society.

In addition to psychological strengthening, the program also featured a body butter making workshop led directly by Mrs. Rully Mustaqimah, Founder of Tanzif Natural. Through this practical training, participants were introduced to hands-on skills using natural ingredients with economic potential that can be developed into future livelihood opportunities. The workshop also formed part of broader efforts to encourage women’s economic independence through practical and applicable skills.

The event was attended by 49 female inmates and implemented through collaboration between Second Chance Foundation, professional partners, and Bogor Class IIA Correctional Facility. In addition to the training and discussion sessions, the program included an opening ceremony attended by Mrs. Evy Amir Syamsudin, Founder of Second Chance Foundation, and Mr. Raden Budiman Priatna Kusumah, Head of Bogor Class IIA Correctional Facility. The event also featured plaque presentations to partner organizations and certificate distribution to participants as recognition of their active participation.

Through this initiative, Second Chance Foundation believes that women’s empowerment must reach every layer of society, including those currently undergoing rehabilitation within correctional institutions. International Women’s Day serves as a reminder that every woman deserves the opportunity to heal, learn, and grow without exception.
