Second Chance Foundation and UPH Faculty of Law Hold Legal and Entrepreneurship Outreach Program for Inmates at Tangerang Youth Correctional Facility

Tangerang, May 11, 2026Second Chance Foundation, in collaboration with the Faculty of Law of Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH), once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting the social reintegration process of inmates through a community service initiative titled Legal and Entrepreneurship Outreach Program, held at Tangerang’s Pemuda Correctional Facility, Class IIA.

This initiative represents a collaborative effort aimed at providing education, empowerment, and a more inclusive learning environment for 70 inmates. In addition to focusing on legal awareness, the program also introduced entrepreneurial insights as preparation for life after the completion of their correctional development period.

The event featured Founder of Second Chance Foundation, Evy Amir Syamsudin, B.A., S.H., as a speaker alongside Dr. Franciscus Xaverius Wartoyo, S.H., M.Pd., M.H., and Dr. Hosiana Daniel Adrian Gultom, S.H., M.H. The speakers were warmly welcomed by the Head of Tangerang’s Pemuda Correctional Facility, Class IIA, Mohamad Fadil, A.Md.IP., S.H., M.H.

During the program, participants received educational sessions on the importance of legal understanding in society, as well as an introduction to entrepreneurial opportunities that could be developed as a means of achieving economic independence. The materials presented were expected to help inmates build a more positive and productive mindset as they prepare for the future.

Second Chance Foundation believes that the rehabilitation process should not end with the completion of a sentence, but must also be supported through access to education, personal capacity building, and second chances to contribute positively to society.

“Meaningful change begins with access to education, support, and second chances,” remains a core principle reflected in the various programs and collaborations carried out by Second Chance Foundation.

Through synergy with educational institutions, correctional facilities, and various partners, this initiative is expected to create sustainable impact in supporting the social reintegration of inmates in a more humane and constructive manner.

Second Chance Foundation extends its appreciation to all parties who contributed to and participated in this initiative. Moving forward, similar collaborations are expected to continue growing in order to create more opportunities for learning and empowerment, particularly for inmates who are preparing for a second chance in life.
