Celebration of National Sports Day with Coaching Clinic and Futsal Mini Tournament at LPKA Jakarta

Jakarta, September 4-6, 2023 - In commemoration of the 40th National Sports Day (Haornas), the Second Chance Foundation, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Corrections (Ditjenpas) under the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) of the Republic of Indonesia, organized a remarkable event. This event was aptly titled "Coaching Clinic & Mini Futsal Tournament: Be Creative, Be Competitive & Be the Winner." Held from September 4 to 6, 2023, the event took place on the futsal field at the Special Rehabilitation Institution for Children (LPKA) Class II in Jakarta, with the primary goal of unlocking doors to creativity, competitive spirit, communication skills, and teamwork among the wards of the state.

Starting on September 4, this initiative provided futsal training to 28 young individuals under state care who exhibit tremendous potential and interest in the realm of sports. Over two consecutive days, these young wards were given the opportunity to hone their football skills and receive guidance from experienced coaches. This served as an initial step to inspire them to pursue their dreams and victories in the future.

The climax of the event unfolded on September 6, as a mini futsal tournament took place. Notable figures such as Mr. Iwan Kurniawan, the Head of the BPSDM Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, Ms. Evy Amir Syamsudin, the Chair of the Second Chance Foundation, Mr. Ibnu Chuldun, the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in DKI Jakarta, along with representatives from the Directorate of Social Rehabilitation and Child Development, graced the event with their enthusiastic and spirited support. Their presence underscored the significance of this event in supporting the development of these young individuals under state care.

After completing the mini futsal tournament, all the young wards at LPKA Class II Jakarta engaged in fun games, which included prize-based question-and-answer quizzes and creative painting with watercolors. Organized into groups, they learned the importance of teamwork and camaraderie while competing in a fun-filled atmosphere.

This event would not have been possible without the support of various entities that contributed. The young wards received guidance from experienced futsal and football coaches, namely Mohammad Lily Alfi Syahrin and Rizki Maskuddin. Bie Sportwear Indonesia, Maka Group (Futago, Toodz House & Kopi Tuku), and Right Box Indonesia also provided valuable support by contributing accommodations, equipment, and refreshments, which greatly contributed to the seamless execution of this event.

Through this event, we hope that the young wards at LPKA Class II Jakarta will find new inspiration to explore their creative potential and develop their own capabilities. Additionally, this event is expected to have a significant positive impact on nurturing their sports potential. With the spirit and skills instilled through this event, these young wards are anticipated to grow into better individuals and be prepared to reintegrate into society with confidence. Of course, the hope is that they will continue to achieve success and become champions in their respective lives.
